Appointments

This has been a very busy week for appointments. We would encourage patients to try and pre-book routine appointments where possible for problems that are not urgent. We always have some appointments for on the day for acute problems that cannot wait and need to been seen – for example infections, pain, minor injuries, etc, or more serious issues will be seen as an emergency – for example respiratory problems, chest pain, severe abdominal pain, etc. Patients must call at 8am and join the telephone queue to book an on the day appointment if they feel their problem is urgent for that day. If it is an emergency please use the emergency option, or dial 999 if you feel this is life threatening. There is a call back feature where the phone system will keep your place in the queue and call you when it is your turn. Please give the reception team as much information as possible regarding your problem and symptoms, so they can help get you seen by the most appropriate person at the right time and speak to the GP for advice in some cases as to how urgent this may be.
