Consent to receive SMS messages for over 12’s

Under new data protection legislation we are now required to ask children over the age of 12 to give their own consent to receiving text message reminders to a mobile number of their own choice. Parents may give consent for children under the age of 12, but these messages will stop following their 12th birthday until they have given their consent for these messages to continue.
